Wilda Jean (McClymonds) Neal

Wilda “Jean” Neal, 94, of Great Bend, Kansas, passed away July 19, 2020 at Diversicare of Larned, Larned, Kansas. She was born March 26, 1926 in Midian, Kansas, the daughter of Robert and Beatrice Latchaw McClymonds. Jean has resided in Larned for the past two years, formerly of Chase, Lyons, Great Bend and Valley Center, Kansas. She was a homemaker. Jean was a past member of the VFW Auxiliary of Chase. On December 23, 1944, Jean was united in marriage with Jack Neal in Redwood City, California. He preceded her in death on May 3, 2004. She is also preceded in death by her parents; son, Randy Neal; sister, Joan McClymonds; and half-sister, Lenis McClymonds. Jean is survived by her three daughters, Vickie Wilkerson and husband Allen of Valley Center, KS, Cindy Effertz and husband Steve of Great Bend, KS, and Gail Bailey and husband Ron of Hoisington, KS; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Neal of Euless, TX; half-sister, Roberta McClymonds of WA; thirteen grandchildren; twenty four great-grandchildren; and eleven great-great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, July 23, 2020 at Chase Springdale Cemetery with Chaplain Jeff Owen officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 until 10:30 A.M., Thursday, July 23, 2020 at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons with family present. Memorials may be given to Diversicare of Larned or Kindred Hospice in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
