Wanda J. (Canard) Shoger

Wanda J. Shoger, 79, of Lyons, passed away December 21, 2020 at the Kansas Christian Home, Newton. She was born February 10, 1941 in Mountain View, Arkansas, the daughter of Allen and Kathryn Cupler Canard. Wanda resided in Lyons from 1983 until moving to Newton in 2017. She was a paraeducator for USD 405 Lyons. Wanda was a member of Church of Christ, Windom. On July 26, 1958, Wanda was united in marriage with Richard L. “Dick” Shoger in Farmington, New Mexico. He preceded her in death on October 22, 2007. She is also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Gene Canard and Dewey Canard. Wanda is survived by her son Rick Shoger of Lyons; daughter, Renee Erickson and husband Roger of Wichita, KS; brother, Louie Canard and wife Sue of Midland, TX; sister, Fay Monden of Gainesville, TX; two grandchildren, Andrew Erickson and Emily Preston; and one great-granddaughter, Paisley Preston. Private family graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, December 28, 2020 at Windom Cemetery.
