Vinnie Garold "Jerry" Goodwin Jr.

Vinnie Garold “Jerry” Goodwin Jr., 89, of Berthoud, Colorado, passed away April 11, 2025, at St. Anthony Hospital, Lakewood, Colorado. He was born July 2, 1935, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the son of Vinnie Garold Sr. and Mildred (Wright) Goodwin. Jerry graduated from Sterling High School, Sterling, Kansas. He has resided in Berthoud since 2018, formerly of Peoria, Arizona from 1993 until 2018, and Longmont, Colorado from 1981 until 1993. Jerry was a quality control manager for various tech companies, and worked for Ball Aerospace in Boulder, Colorado, from 1981 until his retirement in 1993. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Longmont, Colorado, where he was involved in a pool league, and member of Westbrook Village Community in Peoria, Arizona. He loved to play golf, enjoyed playing pool, cards, tennis during college, and was a really good swimmer. On November 14, 1964, Jerry was united in marriage with Theresa Catherine “Teri” Roncace, in Van Nuys, California. She preceded him in death on February 22, 2024. He is also preceded in death by his parents; son, Mark Goodwin; brother, Terry Lee Goodwin; sister, Donna Jones; brother-in-law, Gerald Jones. Jerry is survived by his two children, Doug Goodwin of Hutchinson, KS, and Vikki Proctor and husband Mark of Berthoud, CO; sister-in-law, Sadie Goodwin of Sterling, KS; nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and other extended family. Funeral service will be at 12:30 P.M., Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling. Burial will follow at the Sterling Community Cemetery, Sterling. Visitation will be from 11:30 until service time, at Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling, with family present. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or your local food bank, in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling.
