Theresa Anne "Baby Doll" (Hawkes) Baker

Theresa Anne “Baby Doll” Baker, 57, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away October 7, 2023, at her home. She was born November 2, 1965, in Auburn, California, the daughter of David and Leslie Lynn (Mize) Hawkes. Theresa has resided in Lyons for the past year, formerly of Smith Center, Kansas, and Denver, Colorado. She graduated from Mapleton High School, Denver, Colorado, with the class of 1984, and received her master’s degree in criminology from Kaplan University. Theresa was a retired criminologist and homemaker. She lettered in track, during high school. Theresa enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. On August 8, 1984, Theresa was united in marriage with Thomas Baker in Denver, Colorado. She is survived by her husband, Thomas of Lyons, KS; father, David Hawkes of Denver, CO; son, Daniel Baker and wife Autumn of Westminster, CO; two daughters, Katelynn Aul and husband Danny of Brighton, CO, and Brianne Baker and fiancé Jake Tomlin of Lyons, KS; sister, Catherine Richardson and husband Jon of Denver, CO; seven grandchildren, Jacob, Austin, Taylor, Thomas “Mathew”, Emily, Eden “Alix”, and Dustyn; and one great-grandchild, Isabelle. Theresa is preceded in death by her mother; brother, Timothy Hawkes; and sister, Kristie Hawkes. A celebration of life will be held from 1:00-5:00 P.M., Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 5176 Paloma Street, Brighton, Colorado 80601. Memorials may be given to Theresa Baker Memorial Fund in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
