Terry Gene Sawyers

Terry Gene Sawyers, 65, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away May 27, 2021 at his home. He was born July 22, 1955, the son of Walter Ralph “Junior” and Doris J. Scovell. Terry was a resident of Lyons, formerly of McPherson, Kansas. He was a machinist for Lyons Manufacturing. Terry enjoyed riding motorcycles and was an avid NASCAR fan. He is survived by his two daughters, Elisha Jean “E.J” Pinkley and husband Doug of Huntsville, AR, and Jessica Clark of Fayetteville, AR; brother, Jimmie Lee Sawyers of Chandler, AZ; and two grandchildren, Kayli Reeser and Kynsli Pinkley. Terry was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Diana Bartlett. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons, with Pastor Kim Shank officiating. Memorials may be given to Friends of Animals Rice County in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
