Suzie Marlene Hoelscher, 66, of Chase, Kansas, passed away February 15, 2025, at her home. She was born May 9, 1958, in Hutchinson, Kansas, the daughter of Jimmy Dean and Nina Faye (Burr) Earl. Suzie has resided in Chase for the past sixteen years, formerly of Geneseo and Bushton, Kansas. She graduated from Hutchinson High School, Hutchinson, Kansas, with the class of 1976. Suzie was a housewife and office manager for Powerline Machine Works in Geneseo for twenty years. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and crappie fishing, loved her chickens, and most of all spending time with her kids and grandkids. On December 7, 2000, Suzie was united in marriage with Darrel Hoelscher in Bushton. Suzie is survived by her husband, Darrel Hoelscher of Bushton, KS; three children, Jason Cannon and significant other Chauneci DeSpain of West Columbia, SC; Marc Cannon and significant other Megan Boroughs of Lyons, KS, and Stephanie Laubach and husband Justin of Niceville, FL; brother, Jim Earl and wife Theresa of Sterling, KS; two sisters, Connie Butcher and husband Mike of Locust Grove, OK, and Debbie George of Wichita, KS; and five grandchildren, Annie, Thatcher, Emily, Hunter, and Paige. Suzie is preceded in death by her parents. Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Faith Bible Church, Lyons, with Pastor Phil Green officiating. Burial will follow at the Salem-Friedhof Cemetery, rural Bushton. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M., Monday, February 24, 2025 at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons, with family present. Memorials may be given to Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
