Suzanne (White) Fanning

Suzanne Fanning, 89, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away September 17, 2024, at Hilltop Manor Nursing Home, Cunningham, Kansas. She was born December 24, 1934, in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Frank and Esther (McCleary) White. Suzanne has resided in Lyons for the past fifty-five years, formerly of Wichita. She worked for the City of Lyons as the city clerk for many years. Suzanne was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Lyons, and Lyons Country Club. She enjoyed golfing, playing cards, playing piano, and most of all spending time with her family. On February 24, 1952, Suzanne was united in marriage with Ronald Dean Fanning, in Wichita, Kansas. He preceded her in death on July 13, 2024. She is also preceded in death by her son, Michael Fanning; brother, Dale White; and sister, Marilyn Ransom. Suzanne is survived by her two daughters, Brenda Sterneker (Gary) of Cunningham, KS, and Becky Fischer (Randy) of Isabel, KS; six grandchildren, Liz Moffitt (Drew) of Valley Center, KS, Brooke Fischer (Zak) of Pratt, KS, Jeremy Williams (Ashley) of Hutchinson, KS, Kristen Tarman (Jacob) of Jetmore, KS, Alison Peissig of Clearwater, KS, and Brandon Sterneker (Holly) of Wichita, KS; and eleven great-grandchildren, Odin, Reid, Trey, Zade, Hadley, Tallan, Peyton, Myla, Lilli, Karter, Nellie, and one on the way. A private family graveside service will be held at the Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons. Memorials may be given to TECH, INC in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
