Shirley Jean Wise, 83, of Sterling, Kansas, passed to her heavenly home on February 9, 2025, at the Sterling Village, Sterling. She was born May 11, 1941, in Guyman, Oklahoma, the daughter of Herman “Jack” and Milly Alice (Clinkingbeard) Fritzler. Shirley has resided in Sterling since 1990, formerly of Ness City, Kansas. She was a CMA (Certified Medication Aide) at the Sterling Village from 1990 until retiring in 2011. Shirley was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Sterling, where she served as deaconess. She was also a member of Queen Esther Chapter #32 Order of the Eastern Star in Lyons and Silver Leaf Chapter #464 OES in Hutchinson, where she served in many capacities. She also served in the Kansas Grand Family as Grand Martha and a past Matron and a Grand Representative. Shirley enjoyed crocheting, sewing, beadwork and reading. She made many gifts throughout the years for her family and friends. Bill and Shirley really enjoyed motorcycling. They made many lifelong friends in their travels. Shirley was an inspiration to many while she rode her own motorcycle. On June 19, 1960, Shirley was united in marriage with Billy Jack Wise in Pratt, Kansas. He preceded her in death on May 25, 2018. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bobby Fritzler; grandson, Robert “Robby” Woods; granddaughter-in-law, Merlynna Harley; and son-in-law, George “Clint” Kibbe. Shirley is survived by her four daughters, Dorinda Ellis and husband Kevin of Salina, KS, Nancy Woods and husband Troy of Dodge City, KS, Diana Seeger of Hutchinson, KS, and Penny Stull of Ransom, KS; sister, Betty “Corky” Tieszen of Mitchell, SD; eight grandchildren, Billy Ellis and wife Keely, Alesha Schoshke and husband Hayden, Michael Woods, Schandelle Wolfe and husband Zakk, Dustin Thomas and wife Heather, Ira Stull, Ashley Stull, and Brandon Kibbe and wife Megan; twenty great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, February 13, 2025, at the United Presbyterian Church, Sterling, with Pastor Melissa Krabbe officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson, Kansas. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the church. Memorials may be given to the United Presbyterian Church, Queen Esther Chapter #32 Order of the Eastern Star, or Christian Motorcyclist Association Run for the Son in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling.
