Shirley Anita Sheridan, 90, of Raymond, Kansas, passed away at the home of her son, Daniel. She was born August 11, 1935, in Lyons, Kansas, the daughter of Gail and Juanita (Clampitt) Lucas. Shirley has resided in Raymond for the past nine years, with Daniel, formerly a lifetime Lyons resident. She graduated from Lyons High School, with the class of 1953. Shirley worked at Dillions, J.C. Penny’s, Kimple Furniture Store, and the Coronado Quivira Museum, Lyons, in the Genealogy Department. She was a full-time mother of four boys and enjoyed gardening. Shirley always had a beautiful rose and flower garden. On November 1, 1954, Shirley was united in marriage with Edwin M. Sheridan in Lyons. They later divorced in 1984. Shirley is survived by her son, Daniel of Raymond, KS, stepson, Travis Feil of Wichita, KS; stepdaughter, Celina Oberle of Chase, KS; brother, Eugene Lucas of Norwalk, CA; three sisters, Dee Hammer of Lyons, KS, Diane Archer of Lyons, KS, and Debra Gayle Fox of Larned, KS; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; three sons, Jeff Sheridan, Kenny Sheridan, and Marty Sheridan; daughter-in-law, Anita M. Sheridan; two brothers, Luke Lucas and Steve Lucas; sister, Susan Casey; and ex-husband, Ed Sheridan. Graveside service will be at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at the Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons. Memorials may be given to Muscular Dystrophy Association in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
