Sheila Peterman, 76, of Little River, Kansas, passed away December 18, 2024, at Sandstone Heights Nursing Home, Little River. She was born November 26, 1948, in Long Beach, California, the daughter of Samuel Thomas and Arabella Mae (Crider) Harris. Sheila has resided in Little River since 1997, formerly of Lyons and Bushton, Kansas. She graduated from Ellsworth High School, with the class of 1966. Sheila worked at North American Salt as a payroll clerk and as a mail carrier in Rice and McPherson Counties. She was a member of the Andover Lutheran Church, Windom, charter member of the Republican Presidential Task Force, lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Patrick Henry #34, and member of the Little River American Legion Auxiliary. Sheila was a seamstress, and enjoyed pottery, arts and crafts, collecting anything Mickey Mouse, and loved traveling. On June 25, 1966, Sheila was united in marriage with Robert Lee Peterman in Ventura, California. Sheila is survived by her husband, Robert of Little River, KS; daughter, Karma Latasa and husband Leroy of Saint Johns, FL; three grandchildren, Daniel Latasa of St. Johns, FL, Shayne Peterman and wife Taylor of Little River, KS, and Savannah Peterman of AR; three great-grandchildren, Zachary Lee Peterman Jr., Jaxon Peterman, and Kylie Peterman; and numerous foster children. Sheila is preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Rob Peterman and Sean Peterman; brother, Ronald Harris; and grandson, Zachary Peterman Sr. Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Andover Lutheran Church, Windom, with Pastor Anna Borders officiating. Burial will follow at the Bean Memorial Cemetery, Little River. Visitation will be Friday, December 20, 2024 from 2:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons, with family present from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Memorials may be given to Disabled American Veterans (DAV) in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
