Ronald Dean "Ron" Minix

Ronald Dean “Ron” Minix, 76, of Sterling, Kansas, passed away September 30, 2019 in El Dorado, Kansas. He was born February 2, 1943 in Falls City, Nebraska, the son of William J. and Wilma Arnold Minix. Ron graduated from Alden High School, Alden, Kansas, with the class of 1961. He was a lifetime Rice County resident. Ron was a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of Westside Baptist Church, Hutchinson, and Calvary Baptist Church, Sterling. Ron enjoyed woodworking and loved his pets. He is survived by his son, Steve Minix and wife Stephanie of Lyons; siblings, twin brother Don Minix and wife Nancy of Raymond, KS, Jerry Minix and wife Pam of Lyons, and Marvin Minix and wife Kathy of Tonkawa, OK; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Paul Shryock; and grandson, Ian Shuey. Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Raymond Hilltop Cemetery, Raymond, Kansas with Pastor Oscar Gomez officiating. Memorials may be given to Friends of Animals Rice County in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
