Ronald Dean Fanning

Ronald Dean Fanning, 91, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away July 13, 2024, at Hospital District #1 of Rice County, Lyons. He was born November 15, 1932, in Wichita, Kansas, the son of William L. and Myrne (Botkin) Fanning. Ronald has resided in Lyons for the past fifty-five years, formerly of Wichita. He graduated from North High School in 1949 then attended Wichita State University. Ronald retired from Lyons Manufacturing after working there for many years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Lyons, and the Lyons Country Club. On February 24, 1952, Ronald was united in marriage with Suzanne White in Wichita. Ronald is survived by his wife, Suzanne Fanning of Lyons, Ks; two daughters, Brenda (Gary) Sterneker of Cunningham, Ks., and Becky (Randy) Fischer of Isabel, Ks.; six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, and son, Michael Fanning. A private graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 18, 2024, at Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons, with Pastor Larry Schumacher officiating. Memorials may be given to TECH Inc. in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
