Roberto Miranda Garcia Sr.

Roberto Miranda Garcia Sr., 85, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away June 20, 2024, at Ascension Via Christi St. Teresa, Wichita, Kansas. He was born April 24, 1939, in Vicente, Guerrero, Mexico, the son of Eutimio Miranda Aragon and Guadalupe Garcia Villalba. Roberto has resided in Lyons since 1975, formerly of McPherson and Chase, Kansas. He worked in maintenance at CHS McPherson Refinery for many years. Roberto served in the Mexican Army. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Lyons. Roberto enjoyed welding, building car trailers, fishing, hunting, playing yard games, singing and playing instruments, and most of all spending time with his family. Roberto is survived by his son, Robert “Kit” Miranda Jr. (Genny) of McPherson, KS; five grandchildren, Keyara Evon Miranda, Lilianna Nevaeh Miranda, Legend Shakur Zakiiah Miranda, Legacy Skyy Miranda, and Kingdom Joel Levelle Miranda; great-grandchild, Ariyah Meilon Sanchez; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and three sisters. Funeral mass will be at 9:30 A.M., Friday, June 28, 2024, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Lyons, with Father Michael Brungardt officiating. Burial will follow at the Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M., Thursday, June 27, 2024, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Lyons with family present. A rosary will be said at 7:00 P.M. The family suggest memorials be given to Birzer Funeral Home to help offset funeral expenses.
