Robert Richard "Bob" Stegman

Robert Richard “Bob” Stegman, 69, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away March 3, 2025, at his home. He was born April 8, 1955, in Garden City, Kansas, the son of Richard and Lorraine Beulah (Graham) Stegman. Bob was a lifelong Lyons resident. He graduated from Lyons High School, with the class of 1974. Bob worked for the Department of Corrections as a uniformed Lieutenant in Hutchinson and Larned from 2001 until retiring in 2019. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Lyons, Liars Fishing Club, Lyons and a lifetime NRA member. Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and most of all spending time with his family and grandchildren. On May 30, 1975, Robert was united in marriage with Deborah Rae Frank in Lyons. Robert is survived by his wife, Debbie Stegman of Lyons, KS; two sons, Lance Stegman and wife Jessica of Overland Park, KS, and Lee Stegman and wife Stephanie of Overland Park, KS; daughter, Christi Weis and husband Jason of Garland, TX; brother, Don Stegman and wife Cheryl of Lyons, KS; six sisters, Bonnie Russ and husband Bob of Nickerson, KS, Alta Linden and husband Dale of Sterling, KS, Shirley Wilhaus of Sterling, KS, Betty Evans and husband Mark of Wichita, KS, Vickie Keyes and husband Steven of Lyons, KS, and Penny Wilson and husband Donnie of Harrah, OK; eight grandchildren, Preston, Lauren, Grayson, Dalton, Emersyn, Dillon, Addison, and Kinslie. Robert is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Dixie Stegman. Funeral mass will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, March 8, 2025, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Lyons, with Father Michael Brungardt officiating. Burial will follow at the Lyons Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 7:00 P.M., Friday, March 7, 2025, at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons, with family present from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. A rosary will be said at 6:30 P.M. Memorials may be given to Hospice of Reno County or Cancer Center of Kansas, McPherson in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
