Robert Linden “Bob” Hazlett, 81, of Raymond, Kansas, passed away January 16, 2024, and was reunited in heaven with his loving wife, Amy. He was born August 25, 1942, in Rocky Ford, Colorado, the son of Harry and Ora Lea (Grisham) Hazlett. Bob has resided in Raymond since 2009, formerly of Garden City, Kansas, and Colorado. He graduated from Fowler High School, Fowler, Colorado, with the class of 1961. Bob served in the United States Marine Corp from June 22, 1961 until his honorable discharge on June 21, 1965, attaining the rank of private first class. He was a meat cutter for various grocery stores and worked in meat processing for Central Packing. After retirement, Bob was a meter reader for the City of Raymond. Bob was a member of the House of Prayer in Chase, Kansas, and served on the Raymond Township Council for several years. He formerly ran the Discipleship House in Garden City. Bob loved the Lord and enjoyed sharing God’s word with others. Many knew Bob as a tough marine, although he had a softer side and enjoyed gardening and had a heart for animals. On May 30, 1984, Bob was united in marriage with Amy Lynn Mardis in Lamar, Colorado. She preceded him in death on May 30, 2022. He is also preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Rhonda Hager-Hunt; sister, Kathleen Hollifield; and niece, Brenda Hollifield. Bob is survived by his three children, Lori Kells and husband Jeremy of Garden City, KS, Cindy Chaussart and husband Dick of CO, and Michael Hazlett and wife Kristi of CO; three brothers, Kenneth Hazlett and wife Lynda of CO, John Hazlett and wife Victoria of CO, and Bradley Hazlett and wife Karen of WA,; and four grandchildren, Alyssa Taqi, Alec Oller, Ariel Evans, and Austin Manring. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, January 27, 2024, at the Raymond Community Development Center, Raymond, with Alan Root officiating. Memorials may be given to Chase House of Prayer in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
