Robert Jacob "Bob" Moore

Robert Jacob “Bob” Moore, 79, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away August 14, 2023, at Sandstone Heights Nursing Home, Little River, Kansas. He was born October 11, 1943, in Sterling, Kansas, the son of Frank Henry Sr. and Mable Bell Fenwick Moore. Bob was a lifelong Lyons, Alden, and Little River resident. He worked at the Little River Grain Elevator as a supervisor for 26 years, Lyons Salt Plant for 8 years, and was also a farmhand for several years. Bob enjoyed dancing, fishing, hunting, and most of all spending time with his family. He was a dedicated part of the Dairy Queen morning Crew each weekday in Lyons and ate breakfast every Sunday morning at the Sterling Café in Sterling. Bob was a member of the Moose Lodge , Hutchinson. On July 16, 1967, Bob was united in marriage with Twilla Pitts in Hutchinson, Kansas. They later divorced. Bob is survived by his four children, Robert Kenny Moore and wife Shari of Little River, KS, Frederick Alan Moore and wife Melinda of Lyons, KS, Larry LeRoy Moore and wife Rachel of Wellington, KS, and Ruby Irene Jenkins and husband Rodney of Kansas City, MO; three siblings, Myrtle Ladd of Kansas City, KS, Minnie Myers of Alden,KS, and Pat Moore and wife Carol of Hutchinson, KS; ten grandchildren, Kaela Moore, Wade Moore, Jeremy Moore, Zachary Moore, Olivia Moore, Mariah Clyatt, Bryar Moore, Brittany Peterman, Riggs Dimitt, and Madison Dimitt; and numerous great-grandchildren. Bob is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Frank, Jim, Zeke, and John; and four sisters, Millie Nelson, Elsie Critchfield, Helen Widener, and Mattie Jones. Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons, with Melinda Moore officiating. Burial will be at the Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons at a later date. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Robert Jacob Moore Memorial Fund in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
