Robert VonLehe Obituary

Robert William VonLehe, 85, of Lyons, passed away March 4, 2021 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas. He was born on October 4, 1935 in Clifton, Kansas, the son of Erwin E. and Hilda Bott VonLehe. Robert graduated from Linn High School, Linn, Kansas, with the class of 1954. He has resided in Lyons since 1972, formerly of Glenwood, Iowa. Robert worked for Northern Natural Gas as a technician and later moved into a management position from 1958 until his retirement in 1993. He served in the Army National Guard from 1953 until 1962. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Lyons, where he served on various leadership roles, a member of Lyons Kiwanis Club, member of Optimist International of Glenwood, Iowa, and served on the Lyons Planning Committee. Robert enjoyed farming and collecting tractors, polishing stones, riding motorcycles and most of all his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved reading and a good pot of coffee, spending time with his coffee group friends, raisin crème pies, and current events. Robert was very particular when it came to caring for his house, yard and vehicles. On May 29, 1960, Robert was united with Bonnie Rahe at the Zion Lutheran Church, Linn, Kansas. She survives of the home. He is also survived by his three children, Brad VonLehe of San Antonio, TX, Tamra Just and husband Randy of El Dorado, KS, and Troy VonLehe and wife Tammie of Thompson Station, TN; brother, Elden VonLehe and wife Judith of Scottsdale, AZ; brother-in-law, Kermit Rahe and wife Joyce of Wichita, KS; sisters, Evelyn Bokelman-Ford and husband Galen of Overland Park, KS and Donna Jean Silver and husband Lynn of Burlingame, KS; grandchildren, Adam Just and wife Kaitlyn, Collin Just and wife Lauren, Taylor VonLehe, and Jacob Ventling and fiancé Morgan; great-grandchildren, Emersyn and Sutton Just and Everleigh Ventling, and numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Jerald Bokelman; and two sisters-in-law, June Rahe and Phyllis Rahe. Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M., Monday, March 8, 2021 at Grace Lutheran Church, Lyons with Pastor Kenton Abbott officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M., Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons with family present. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Grace Lutheran Church, Lutheran Hour Ministries, or Donor’s Choice in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
