Raul "Rudy" Martinez

Raul “Rudy” Martinez, 89, of Chase, Kansas, passed away June 8, 2022, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka, Kansas. He was born August 31, 1932, in San Antonio, Texas, the son of Jose and Juanita Martinez. Rudy has resided in Chase for the past 54 years. He worked in the oil field as an operator for many years. On March 17, 1952, Rudy was united in marriage with Francisca Perez in San Antonio, Texas. Rudy is survived by his wife, Francisca of Chase, KS; three sons, Luis Martinez of Chase, KS, Raul Martinez Jr. of Lyons, KS, and Lasaro Martinez Sr. of Lyons, KS; four daughters, Beatrice Olson of Lyons, KS, Janie Werner of Lyons, KS, Sally Lopez of Lyons, KS, and Mary Lopez of Topeka, KS; two sisters, Lupe Martinez and Margarita Rodrate; eighteen grandchildren; and twenty-six great-grandchildren. Rudy was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Juanita Martinez; brother, Francisco Martinez; and three sisters, Victoria Martinez, Angelita Cabazo, and Maria Gonzales. Funeral mass will be at 10:30 A.M., Monday, June 13, 2022, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Lyons, with Father Michael Brungardt officiating. Burial will follow at the Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M., Sunday, June 12, 2022, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Lyons, with family present. A parish rosary will be said at 7:00 P.M. Memorials may be given to Midland Hospice House, Topeka in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
