Ralph E. Vohs

Ralph E. Vohs, 84, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away June 18, 2019 at Hospital District #1 of Rice County, Lyons. He was born October 11, 1934 in Plainville, Kansas, the son of Herman Joseph and Anna Griebel Vohs. Ralph graduated from Alton High School with the class of 1953. He has resided in Lyons since 1999, formerly of Rozel, KS. Ralph was a farmer and stockman, and maintenance tech at Cargill, retiring in 1994. Ralph served in the United States Navy from November 29, 1955 until August 22, 1957. He was raised in the Catholic faith and was a member of Knights of Columbus Council # 7422. He attended the First Presbyterian Church, Lyons, and was a member of Liars Fishing Club, Lyons. Ralph was united in marriage with Inez Reif, they later divorced. Ralph was united in marriage with Linda Wren. She preceded him in death. On February 13, 2000 Ralph was united in marriage with Mary Evelyn Bolton in Las Vegas, Nevada. She preceded him in death on February 15, 2016. He is also preceded in death by his parents; infant daughters, Loretta, Jane, and Pauline Vohs; brothers, Donald, Bernard, Raymond, and Leonard Vohs; and granddaughter, Casey Bolton. He is survived by his son, Gerald Vohs of Haysville, KS; daughter, Mary Evans and husband Kelly of Gothenburg, NE; step-son, Rob Bolton and wife Heidi of Alden, KS; step- daughters, Bonnie Bolton of Lyons, KS, and Allison Bolton and wife Cheyne of Halifax, Nova Scotia; brother, Duane Vohs of Westminster, CO; and sisters, Betty Lala of Woodston, KS, and Geraldine Orr of Gaylord, KS; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 22, 2019 at First Presbyterian Church, Lyons with Rev. Lara MacGregory officiating with military honors by the United States Navy. Memorials may be given to First Presbyterian Church, Lyons in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
