Phebe Luella (Unruh) Hodgson

Phebe Luella Hodgson, 84, of Sterling, Kansas, passed away November 7, 2025, at Sandstone Heights Nursing Home, Little River. She was born February 20, 1941, in Hutchinson, Kansas, the daughter of Jacob and Leota (Thomas) Unruh. Phebe has resided in Sterling since 2008, formerly of Clay Center, Kansas, and Cedar Creek Lake, Gun Barrel City, Texas. She graduated from Hutchinson High School, Hutchinson, Kansas. Phebe was a sales manager for Smoker Products at Cedar Creek Lake for many years. She enjoyed fishing, traveling, and most of all spending time with her family. Phebe was married to Jack Hodgson. They later divorced. She is survived by her son Mark Hodgson of Irving, TX; sister, Melva Cummins; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Phebe is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Victor Unruh and Leslie Unruh; and sister, Leanna Smith. A private family burial will be at Cedar Creek Lake, Gun Barrel City, Texas, at a later date. Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling.
