I’ve never met Paul in person. We came into contact when Paul bought a Mini Cooper car for his wife and I (in the UK) had a mini too. Over the years we shared friendship on Facebook. I feel I knew him and his beloved family. So very sad to lose a friend. I will miss you and your stories Paul

I met Paul at a family reunion held at the Shafer family farm-( my husband's family) he was kind and gracious as was Kim- he told stories- and I have followed him on facebook ever since- he had a gift for capturing emotions and pictures that came alive- the true storytellers gift. He touched people- A rare treasure and a humble man.

I lived across the street from Paul when he lived on South Grand in Lyons. I was in grade school and had a passion for military aircraft. Paul would invite me over and talk to me about jets, even giving me some souvenirs from his time with the Air National Guard that I still have to this day. It always meant a lot to me that he was willing to spend that time with me and I missed him when he moved. Thank you Paul

I only knew Paul thru the Airedale groups we both were members of online. What shined thru in his posts were his love for Airedales, the love he had for his wife, family, and honoring his roots. His posts and writings about his family history was full of pride for family and the importance of leaving a legacy, which he surely did for his family. May God's promises of a sweet reunion give his family comfort.
Sincerely, Karen Smosarski, Cuyahoga Heights, Ohio

Paul you were like a brother to me for 17 years. I loved you and your family. A person could just see the love in them. {and you didn't have to look hard}. Haven't seen you and Kim in years and now you are gone. All we can do is live our lives one day at a time and enjoy our families and friends while we can. Rest in Peace Dear Friend.

My deepest condolences to Pauls entire family. As I said before, I only knew Paul thru the love of Airedales, but long after I lost my pup we stayed in touch thru FB and I followed his journey the last few years. I loved to read his stories about his life and his family and see his pictures he posted of his wife and kids and grandkids. Rest In Peace Paul. You will be missed by your entire community both near and far.

Fair winds and following seas . Is a navy saying to somebody that has gone before us. I was glad to have known you in school as well as reconnecting when I finally came back home in 1995 from my 20 years in the navy
