Ora Faye (Thomas) Vaughn

Ora Faye Vaughn, 95, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away August 17, 2021 at Hospital District #1 of Rice County, Lyons. She was born March 9, 1926 in Augusta, Kansas, the daughter of Homer and Clara Corral Thomas. Ora graduated from Chase High School, Chase, Kansas, with the class of 1944. She has resided in Lyons since 1976, formerly of Midland, Texas. Ora cleaned houses and was a housewife. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting and even made some of her own clothing. On June 20, 1947, Ora was united in marriage with Walter William Vaughn in McPherson, Kansas. He preceded her in death on November 6, 2003. She is also preceded in death by her parents. Ora is survived by her son, Gary Vaughn of Lyons; and a cousin, Phillip Morris and wife Janice of Ponca City, OK. Graveside services will be at 1:00 P.M., Monday, August 23, 2021 at Springdale Cemetery, Chase, with Rev. Robert Friesen officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M., Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons with family present. Memorials may be given to Alzheimer’s Association in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
