Norma Ailene (Louis) Porter

Norma Ailene Porter, 89, of Bushton, passed away October 12, 2018 at Good Samaritan Society, Lyons. She was born June 28, 1929 in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Ernest and Hazel Kerns Louis. She graduated from Bushton High School in Bushton, Kansas with the class of 1947. Norma has resided in Lyons since 2011, formerly of Bushton for 20 years and Tulsa, Oklahoma for 25 years. She was a nurse’s aid and lab tech at various locations around Kansas; and nurse and office manager in Tulsa for 18 years. Norma was a member of First United Methodist Church, Bushton; and volunteered for Meals on Wheels, Lyons and Lyons Thrift Shop. On September 30, 1947, Norma was united in marriage with Joseph Wesley Porter in Bushton, Kansas. He preceded her in death on April 18, 2011. She is also preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Phyllis Richards. She is survived by her son, Patrick Louis Porter and wife Kelly of Aledo, TX; two grandchildren, Jacob Porter of Tulsa, OK, and Allison Porter of Oklahoma City, OK; and numerous nephews. Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons with Pastor Diana Webster officiating. Burial will be at Bushton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 7:00 P.M., Monday, October 15, 2018 at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons with family present from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Memorials can be made to Alzheimer’s Association in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
