Nancy Lucinda "Cindy" McNutt, 77, of Sterling, Kansas, passed away April 23, 2021 at District Hospital #1 of Rice County, Lyons. She was born May 9, 1943, Sterling, the daughter of Jack and Phyllis Elon Barber Heter. Cindy was a lifelong Sterling resident. She graduated from Sterling High School. Cindy worked at the Sterling College for 28 years, and was a housewife and mother. On December 2, 1960, Cindy was united in marriage with Earl Henry McNutt in Sterling. They later divorced. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Sterling. Cindy is survived by her significate other, Greg Wellman of Sterling; two sons, Bradley Earl McNutt and wife Pam of Wichita, KS and Douglas Jack McNutt of Sterling; daughter, Emily Kay McNutt of Woodstock, NY; two brothers, Richard James Heter and wife Sharon of Marion, NC, Robert Heter and wife Nancy of Sterling; and five grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, William Heter. A private family service will be held. Memorials may be given to the Sterling Food Bank or Dominican Sisters of Peace, Great Bend, KS in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling.
