Mary Walters Obituary

Mary E. Walters, 98, of Chase, Kansas, passed away December 11, 2019 at Sterling Village, Sterling, Kansas. She was born April 10, 1921, in Hominy, Oklahoma, the daughter of Ira and Alta May Parnell Fosdick. On July 7, 1939, Mary was united in marriage with O.E. Walters at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ellinwood. He preceded her in death on September 15, 1998. Mary was a resident of Chase since 1983, formerly of Corpus Christi, Texas. She was a homemaker. Mary was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Lyons, and Third Order Franciscan. Mary is also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Karol J. Fread; brothers, Don Fosdick, John Fosdick and J.R. Fosdick; sisters, Alta May Snow, and Lorene Johnson. She is survived by a daughter, Karen A. Nuss of Roeland Park KS; sister, Esther Thul of Great Bend, KS; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A private family burial will be at a later date. Funeral arrangements handled by Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
