Mary Marcelline (Dressel) Hoffman

Mary Marcelline (Dressel) Hoffman, (98+), passed away on, March 11, 2023. She was born on July 17, 1924, in Lyons, Kansas, the daughter of Jurgen Heinrich Wilhelm (Bill) Dressel and Lena Grace Rodenstine. Mary graduated from Lyons High School with the class of 1942; and from Kansas State University with the class of 1946. She married and moved to California where she raised three children. Mary was a homemaker, seamstress, and teacher. She completed her master’s degree at UCLA and taught at Mark Keppel Elementary School from 1968 until she retired in 1991. Mary loved to travel the world, Kauai, Hawaii was her special place. Mary is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Palmatary, and Beverly Hoffman-Fuglsby; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Burial will be at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, June 10, 2023, at the Lyons Municipal Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to attend. Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons is in charge of arrangements.
