Mary Louise Bush, 81, a long-time Little River, Kansas resident, passed away May 21, 2022, at Chisolm Place Memory Care in Wichita, Kansas. She was born May 24, 1940, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Helen Frances (Weygandt) and Joseph Aloyoius Cellucci. She moved to Little River in 1954 and graduated from Little River High School in 1958. She married Bryan Russell Bush on September 7, 1958, at the Methodist Church in Little River, and the couple lived and farmed south of town on the Bush Ranch for 60 years. Bryan preceded her in death on April 22, 2018. Mary was a member of the Midland Community United Church of Christ. In addition to working on the farm, she was a past school bus driver for USD#444. Her volunteer activities included the Sandstone Heights Nursing Home Board, Little River Community Library Board, Rice County FSA Board, Kansas Agri-Women, Women’s Fellowship and Sunday school teacher, and 4-H community and project leader. Survivors include her son, James (Deb) Bush, Beatrice, NE; daughter Deanna Bush, Andover, KS; sister, Carolyn Curtis, Colorado Springs, CO; brother, John Cellucci, Modesto, CA; sister-in-law, Mary (Dick) Hysell, Lyons, KS; grandchildren, Rachel (Eric) Black, Andover, KS, Garrett Bush, Lincoln, NE, Katelyn (Gabe) Spurgeon, Baldwin City, KS, Aaron (Sara) Bush, Omaha, NE, and Clare (Kaleb) Horne, Baldwin City, KS; and 10 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, June 4, 2022, at the Midland Community United Church of Christ, rural Sterling, Kansas, with the Rev. Matt Perkins officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Midland Community UCC or the Little River Community Library in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
