Martha Jane (Dean) Shearer

Martha Jane Shearer, 75, of Scandia, Kansas, passed away May 21, 2024, at Sandstone Heights Nursing Home, Little River. She was born February 5, 1949, in Bay Village, Ohio, the daughter of Robert W. and Doris J. Duggan Dean. Martha has resided at Sandstone Heights Nursing Home, Little River for the past two years, formerly of Scandia and Courtland, Kansas. She graduated from Seminole High School, Sanford, Florida, with the class of 1967. Martha was a nurse at various places throughout her life. She enjoyed wood carving and knitting. On July 18, 1969, Martha was united in marriage with Harold Lee Shearer in Bainbridge, Florida. She is survived by her husband, Harold of Raymond, KS; son, Christopher Robert Shearer of Alma, KS; daughter, Lesa Shearer of Raymond, KS; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Martha is preceded in death by her parents. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
