Mark Bowman Kelley, 65, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away January 26, 2020 at his home. He was born September 27, 1954 in Lyons, the son of Theron Lee and Merna D. John Kelley. Mark was a near lifelong Lyons resident, having lived in Weston, Missouri for 21 years. He attended Lyons High School and later received his diesel mechanic certificate from a trade school in Phoenix, Arizona. He was a farmer and stockman. Mark was a member of the American Legion Post #241, Geneseo. On August 12, 1982, Mark was united in marriage with Nellie Marie Perkins in Lyons. She preceded him in death on July 30, 2005. He is also preceded in death by his father, Theron Lee Kelley; son, Chad Kelley; and infant brother, Thane Kelley. Mark is survived by his mother, Merna Kelley of Lyons; sons, Marcus Kelley and wife Laci of Newton, KS, Gerald Bailey II of Colorado, and Thane Haug of Lawrence; brothers, Pat Kelley and wife Helen of Edmond, OK, Bob Kelley of Maybank, TX, Ted Kelley and wife Cary of Gun Barrel City, TX, John Kelley of Lyons; sister, Kala Searcy and husband Donald of Weston, MO; and grandchildren, Dakota Kelley and Logan and Jordan Bailey. Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Lyons Municipal Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Wichita Association of Deaf or American Lung Association for COPD Research in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
