Marilynn Ann “Lynn” Malone, 85, of Lyons, passed away August 2, 2020 at her home. She was born July 13, 1935 in Havana, Kansas, the daughter of Earl and Maxine Haag Shaw. Lynn was a near lifelong Lyons resident. She was a homemaker. Lynn was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Lyons. She enjoyed volunteering at the Rice County Food Bank for many years. On August 17, 1963, Lynn was united in marriage with Thomas Richard Malone Jr. in Nowata, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on August 11, 2008. She is also preceded in death by her parents; son, Thomas Earl Malone; and daughter, Rhonda Wolverton. Lynn is survived by her four sons, Chris W. Malone of Colorado Springs, CO, Michael S. Malone of Raeford, NC, Stephen E. Hufferd of Thayer, KS, and Kevin L. Mata of Independence, KS; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A private family graveside service will be held at Havana Union Cemetery, Havana, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Rice County Food Bank in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
