Manuel Viramontez

Manuel Viramontez, 84, of Lyons, passed away October 29, 2020 at his home. He was born March 10, 1936 in Lyons, the son of Jesus and Maria Morales Viramontez. Manuel graduated from Lyons High School with the class of 1954. He was a lifetime Lyons resident. Manuel was owner and operator of M & D Wholesale in Lyons, and worked at Pepsi-Cola, Lyons in his early years. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Lyons. Manuel was a sign painter and avid sports fan. He also enjoyed getting together with the Class of 1954, every five years at different locations. On December 24, 1955, Manuel was united in marriage with Betty Juarez in Chicago, Illinois. She survives of the home. He is also survived by his two sons, Marty Viramontez and wife Barb of Wichita, KS, and Dave Viramontez and wife Lori of Lyons; sister, Terry Estrada of Chicago, IL; five grandchildren, Derek Viramontez, Michael Viramontez, Tyler Viramontez and wife Emily, Chris Viramontez and Sara Kelley, and Jessica Viramontez; and three great-grandchildren, Reagan, Adelyn and Isaac Viramontez. Manuel is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers-in-law, Manuel Navarro, Paul Juarez, and Raymond Juarez. Funeral mass will be at 10:30 A.M., Monday, November 2, 2020 at St. Paul Catholic Church, Lyons with Father Patrick Kotrba officiating. Burial will be at Lyons Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M., Sunday, November 1, 2020 at St. Paul Catholic Church, Lyons with Parish Rosary at 7:00 P.M. Memorials may be given to St. Paul Catholic Church, Lyons or Cerebral Palsy Association in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
