My sympathy upon the loss of your mother, Lucille. Growing up in the late 50's and early 60's she was so much a part of our lives in the Christian Church Sunday school program and activities, as well as a life long friend to the community. We were blessed to have known her. A truly remarkable woman.

Mrs. McCalla and her husband Mr. McCalla had a lasting impact upon my life. Sorry, I always knew them as Mr. and Mrs. McCalla. They both were active Sunday School teachers in classes that I attended. As a child, I was well acquainted with them outside of the church, Mr. McCalla at KPL, and Mrs. McCalla at the Toggery and Calhoun's where my mother bought my first pair of blue jeans. They both were fine people, great examples to the children they taught in Sunday School, and the likes of people who are the foundation of a small town. The town of Lyons was blessed to have them, and I as a child was blessed to know them.
