LuAnn (Shroyer) van de Oudeweetering

Stephanie LuAnn van de Oudeweetering, 65, of Sterling, Kansas, passed away February 27, 2025, at her home. She was born October 14, 1959, in Hutchinson, Kansas, the daughter of Gary L. and Donna (Stout) Shroyer. LuAnn has resided in Sterling for the past twenty-four years, formerly of Nashville, Tennessee. She graduated from Sterling High School, with the class of 1978. LuAnn was the lead Veterinary Technician for Ark Veterinary Clinic, Sterling, for the past twenty-three years. One of her priorities in life was her animals, she had a great love for her dogs and cats. LuAnn loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and was a proud Gigi. She had a deep love for travel, sand, music, stray animals, and sharing laughter with friends, family, and anyone she met along the way. She is survived by her parents, Gary and Donna Shroyer of Sterling; two sons, Stefan van de Oudeweetering of Sterling, KS, and Christopher Robin Faidiga of Nashville, TN; daughter, Alexis Nichole Dickerson and husband Chad of Union, KY; Randy Shroyer and wife Vicki of Manitou Springs, CO, and Bryan Shroyer and wife Debbie of Hampstead, NC; and four grandchildren, Allie Cornelius, Davyn Faidiga, Effie Dickerson, and D.J. Dickerson. LuAnn was preceded in death by her grandson, Silas van de Oudeweetering. Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling, with Pastor Dale Jordan officiating. Memorials may be given to Friends of Animals Rice County for the temporary care and placement of Lu’s animals and rescue of those others in need in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling.
