Loyed "Dewayne" May

Loyed “Dewayne” May, son of Clarence Edward “Bud” May and Bethel Nadine Arnold May, was born on September 7, 1943, in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He entered eternal rest on June 9, 2021 in Lyons, Kansas, at the age of 77. On October 23, 1966, he married Joyce Yarbrough in West Plains, Missouri. Dewayne enjoyed fishing at Horse Thief Canyon and hunting. He also enjoyed playing casino games on his computer. Dewayne worked for the Missouri Conservation, as a Logger, in the oil field, and in road construction. He lived in Arkansas and Missouri before residing in Kansas in 1975. He is survived by his wife, Joyce May, Lyons, Kansas; 4 children, Sheila Reynolds (Christopher) Hutchinson, Kansas, Sandy Poe (John), Lyons, Kansas, Michael May (Dawnyel), Geneseo, Kansas, and Denise Mitchell (Michael) Edmond, Oklahoma, his 9 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren, and brother Herbert May (Kay) Jonesboro, Arkansas. Loyed is preceded in death by his parents; and eight siblings. A Celebration of life will be held at 2:00 P.M., June 26, 2021 at Peoples Bank and Trust Community Room, Lyons.  Memorials may be given to the family to help with funeral expenses in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons, Kansas.
