Loretta (Young) Teeters

Loretta Teeters, age 83, gained her angel wings when she passed away peacefully at her home on January 7, 2021 surrounded by family. She was born October 31, 1937 in Little River, Kansas to Earl and Verla (Thomas) Young. She was a lifelong resident and graduated from Little River High School in 1955. She was married to Donald Teeters but was later divorced. Loretta was first and foremost a dedicated mother. She treasured her children and their families and embraced every moment with them. Even as her body became more frail, she never let that stop her from playing with her grandbabies. Loretta dedicated her life to the community she lived in. She worked for Williamson Furniture in Little River for nearly 30 years. After the furniture store was sold, she worked as the secretary/bookkeeper for her son’s company as well as being the City Treasurer. Loretta was well known in the community for her loving heart, her amazing hugs, and her compassion for others. She was a total ROCKSTAR!!! She never met a stranger and considered all her friends as her extended family members. Loretta will be dearly missed by her son, Don Teeters and wife Dalene, of Little River and her daughter, Val Loesch and husband Kent, of Raymond; her two brothers, Lyle Young and wife Sandy, and Leland Young, both of Little River; grandchildren Brandon Teeters, Jessie Godfrey, Jamie Hubin, Kiley Stromberg, and Nick Loesch along with 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother (Carl), a great granddaughter (Brynli), a sister-in-law (Cathy), and a niece (Kelley). A Graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Bean Memorial Cemetery, Little River with Pastor Rob Bolton officiating.
