Lila Hunt Obituary

Lila K. Hunt, 64, of Protection, Kansas, formerly of Lyons, passed away March 30, 2021 at Protection Valley Manor, Protection. She was born October 31, 1956, in Kimball, Nebraska, the daughter of Dixie Bemis Wyatt. Lila resided in Protection since 2011. She graduated from Lyons High School. Lila was the head cook for many years at the Sterling Presbyterian Manor, Sterling, Kansas. She served in the United States Army as a military police officer. In August of 1976, Lila was united in marriage with Verne Newton Hunt. He preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Gwen Wyatt; and brother-in-law, Gene Kintigh. Lila is survived by five siblings, Treva Kintigh of Lyons, James A. Wyatt, Penny Caldwell and husband Cam of Meriden, KS, William Wyatt and wife Jenny of Lyons, and Connie Kocher and husband Tom of Lyons. Memorials may be given to Protection Valley Manor in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
