Larry Dean Holliday, 66, of Marysville, Kansas, passed away June 4, 2023, at the Cambridge Place, Marysville. He was born February 19, 1957, in Chula Vista, California, the son of Alton C. “Buddy” Jr. and Dora Ann Casey Holliday. Larry has resided in Marysville since 2020, formerly of Lincoln, Kansas. He graduated from Chase High School, Chase, Kansas, with the class of 1975, attended Colby Community College and the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center in Yoder, Kansas. Larry was an assistant superintendent at the Sterling Power Plant for seventeen years. He was also a police officer for Sterling, Morton County, Ellsworth Correctional Facility, and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s office. Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles and ATV’s, and attending antique car shows. Larry is survived by his son, Justin Holliday and wife Kalene of Lyons, KS; two sisters, Valerie Shultz and husband James of Chase, KS, and Cindy Steffan and husband Jim of Lyons, KS; four grandchildren, Justice Holliday of Sterling, KS, Avery Holliday of South Hutchinson, KS, Natalie Ventura of Lyons, KS, and Boston Holliday of Lyons, KS. Larry was preceded in death by his parents. Graveside service will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, June 17, 2023, at the Chase Springdale Cemetery, Chase, with Pastor Larry Schumacher officiating. Memorials may be given to the Cambridge Place, or the Senior Village in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
