Kirk Edwin Kahler, 61, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away July 23, 2025, at his home. He was born January 12, 1964, in Leavenworth, Kansas, the son of James G. and JoAnn E. (Welch) Kahler. Kirk has resided in Lyons since 2010, formerly of Ft. Waldron Beach, Florida. He graduated from Lyons High School, with the class of 1982, and received his bachelor's degree in English Journalism in 1987, from the University of Kansas. Kirk worked in public relations, news writer, education, and as an assistant funeral director for Birzer Funeral Home. He was an avid Kansas University fan and loved riding his motorcycle. Kirk is survived by his two daughters, Regan Stuart and husband Taylor, and Maren Blessent and husband Matt; two grandchildren, Wyatt Stuart and Collins Stuart; and one grandchild on the way. Kirk is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Krysta Kay Fischer. Memorials may be given to AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.. A graveside service will be held on Friday August 15, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at Bean Memorial Cemetery in Little River, Kansas.
