Kimberly Ann “Kim” Brayton, 63, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away November 10, 2025, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson, Kansas. She was born November 6, 1962, in Lyons, the daughter of Raymond J. and Norma J. (Ehly) Hartle. Kim was a lifetime Lyons resident. She graduated from Lyons High School, with the class of 1981 and later received her associate degree in education from Hutchinson Community College. Kim was a special education para for USD 405, co-manager and cook at Camp WaJaTo, and was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Lyons, past board member of Camp WaJaTo, and past member of the Lyons American Legion Auxiliary. Kim enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, going thrifting, refurbishing furniture, floral arranging, and most of all being a grandma. On June 5, 1981, Kim was united in marriage with Richard Brayton in Lyons. Kim is survived by her husband, Richard Brayton of Lyons, KS; three children, Katie Ann Brayton of Topeka, KS, Jessica Lynn Chaney and husband Nolan of Hutchinson, KS, and William Jacob Brayton of Wichita, KS; three siblings, June Teasley of Atchison, KS, Martin Hartle and wife Penny of Lyons, KS, and Kurt Hartle of Dunde, KS; and three grandchildren, Dilana Chaney, Gabriel Holz, and Adalynn Chaney. Kim is preceded in death by her parents. Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the First Christian Church, Lyons with Pastor Christy Kass officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M., Friday, November 28, 2025, at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons, with family present. Memorials may be given to Children’s Mercy Hospital and Ronald McDonald House in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
