Kenneth Malone Obituary

Kenneth “Kenny” Malone, 76, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away April 16, 2022, at Hospital District #1 of Rice County, Lyons. He was born June 25, 1945, in Great Bend, Kansas, the son of Raphael Leo “R.L.” and Helen Marie Saudinger Malone. Kenny was lifetime Lyons resident. He graduated from Chase High School, Chase with the class of 1964. Kenny was a longtime farmer. He served in the United States Army from September 24, 1964 until his honorable discharge on March 23, 1965. Kenny was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Chase; past treasurer for the Center Township for thirty years; and was past commander of the VFW Post #129. Kenny enjoyed collecting John Deere memorabilia. On March 20, 1982, Kenny was united in marriage with Judy K. Dye in Ost, Kansas. She survives of the home. He is also survived by his two sisters; and brother-in-law, David Dye of Meade, KS. Kenny is preceded in death by his parents; and sister. Funeral mass will be at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, April 21, 2022, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Lyons, with Father Aaron Spexarth officiating. The suggest everyone wear casual clothing. Burial will follow at Lyons Municipal Cemetery with military honors by the Ft. Riley Honor Guard. A Parish rosary will be said at 10:00 A.M. at the church prior to the funeral mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the donor’s choice in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
