Kenneth M. Bolton, 84, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away February 14, 2020 at Hospital District #1 of Rice County, Lyons. He was born November 7, 1935 in Lyons, the son of Carroll and Esther Martinie Bolton. Kenneth graduated from Lyons High School with the class of 1953. He was a lifelong Lyons resident. Kenneth was a grain elevator operator for 43 years, having worked at the Pollard, Saxman and Sterling Elevators. He also farmed, raised hogs, co-founder of B.Z. Bee & BoMac Liquid Feeds, and was a NC+ Seed salesman. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, golfing, boating, camping, photography, woodworking and scrolling. Kenneth played Santa Claus and dressed up as a clown in Lyons for many years. He was a son, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He did not know a stranger. Kenneth was a man of integrity, never complained, loved his family, was faithful, well respected, and loved to tease and joke. He was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Lyons, member and past president of Lyons Town and Country Club, and was a 4-H Leader. On February 25, 1958, Kenneth was united in marriage with Lynne Mitchell in Wichita, Kansas. From this union of Kenny and Lynne five daughters were born. They later divorced. On February 7, 1986, Kenneth was united in marriage with Beth Dressel Sewing in Lyons, Kansas. She survives of the home. He is also survived by his five daughters, Kenneta Zwick and husband Craig of Lyons, Kendra Liska and husband David of Lyons, Jayna Morgan and husband Joe of Garden City, KS, Jill Erickson and husband Scott of Mulvane, KS, and Judy Otto and husband Jeff of Wichita, KS; four step-daughters, Debbie Hinson and husband Jerry of Goddard, KS, Rhonda Jones of Rockwall, TX, LuAnn McElwain and husband Mike of McPherson, KS, and Jayne Compton and husband William of Rockwall, TX; twenty-nine grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; two nieces, Bonnie Bolton and Allison Bolton; and two nephews, Rob Bolton and Richard Robinson. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bob Bolton; and sisters, Betty Jo Bolton and Kathleen Robinson. Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Lyons with Pastor Rob Bolton officiating. Burial will be at Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons with family present from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Memorials may be given to Rice Community Healthcare Foundation (Swing Bed Unit at Hospital District #1 of Rice County), Rice County Relay for Life, Rice County Council on Aging, or Ebenezer United Methodist Church in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
