Katherine Mae (Kelly) Sutton

Katherine Mae Sutton, 76, of Nickerson, Kansas, passed away April 27, 2021 at her home. She was born April 14, 1945 in Knoxville, Tennessee, the daughter of Raymond and Elva Davis Kelly. Katherine has resided in Nickerson for the past thirty years, formerly of Hutchinson. She attended Nickerson High School. Katherine was a homemaker. She was a member of Crossroads Christian Church, Hutchinson. Katherine enjoyed reading, cross-stitching, camping, fishing and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. On July 12, 1961, Katherine was united in marriage with Russell Eugene Sutton at the First Christian Church, Hutchinson. He preceded her in death on October 16, 2019. She is also preceded in death by her parents. Katherine is survived by her five sons, Robert Sutton of Nickerson, Troy Sutton and wife Crystal of Sterling, KS, Russell Sutton Jr. and wife Lori of Lyons, KS, Chris Sutton of McPherson, KS and Brandon Sutton of Haven, KS; five brothers, Steve Kelly, Jack Beeney, Gene Beeney, Steve Moore, Kerrey Moore; sister, Karen Moore; fourteen grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 15, 2021 at the Wildmead Cemetery, Nickerson. Memorials may be given to Katherine Sutton Memorial Fund in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling.
