Johnny Cadena

Johnny Cadena, 90, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away June 28, 2024, at Sandstone Heights Nursing Home, Little River, Kansas. He was born June 24, 1934, in Lyons, Kansas, the son of Del Fino Cadena Sr. and Guadalupe Cerfantes. Johnny was a lifelong Lyons resident. He worked in maintenance at the American Salt Company, in Lyons. Johnny was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Lyons. On April 4, 1978, Johnny was united in marriage with Isabel Barrientos in Lyons. She preceded him in death on January 13, 2022. He is also preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Louis Cadena, Del Fino Cadena Jr., Nash Cadena, and Igncio Cadena; and step-son, Pascual De La Torre. Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Lyons, with Father Michael Brungardt and Father Edmond Kline officiating. A parish rosary will be said at 10:00 A.M. at the church. Burial will follow at the Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons. Memorials may be given to St. Paul’s Catholic Church in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
