Jody Loren Dietz, 45, of Lyons, Kansas died on January 7, 2024 in his home. He was born on January 24, 1978, to Debra Kay (Folkers) Dietz and Loren Richard Dietz in Hays, Kansas. Jody attended school in Pratt, KS and moved to WaKeeney, KS to attend and graduate from Trego Community High School. High School was a highlight in his life, especially wrestling and spending time with his cousins. He attended the University of Kansas for a short time, then joined the work force living mostly in Pratt and WaKeeney. Jody’s charismatic personality filled a room, especially with his many stories. He always wanted to have a good time and had a big heart. During his many difficult times, Jody’s faith in Jesus guided him. He often relayed in letters and calls that he met some great friends who led him to his stronger faith. He worked as a welder at Great Plains Mfg., Ellsworth. Jody is survived by his brother, Justin Dietz(Lori) of WaKeeney, his sister, Jaime Dietz of Independence, MO, and his four nieces, whom he cherished and called them “my girls”, Adrian and Annika Dietz, and Morgan and McKinley McElroy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Debra (Folkers) Dietz and Loren Richard Dietz. A memorial services is planned for March 9 at 10:30 am at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Trego Center, south of WaKeeney, KS.
