Jesus Garcia Miranda

Jesus Garcia Miranda, 82, of Lyons, passed away August 23, 2020 at his home. He was born September 15, 1937 in Santa Teresa, Guerrero, Mexico, the son of Eutimio Miranda Aragon and Guadalupe Garcia Villalba. Jesus has resided in Lyons since 2007, formerly of South St. Paul, Minnesota and Lamesa, Texas. He received a certificate for tree trimming and mechanics from St. Paul College in St. Paul, Minnesota. Jesus was a general laborer. He enjoyed singing and playing various instruments for different bands throughout his life; working around the yard; and trimming trees. On October 24, 1960, Jesus was united in marriage with Adelina Acosta in Lamesa, Texas. She survives of the home. He is also survived by his four daughters, Melissa Miranda Benson of  Eagan, MN,  Margarita Miranda Cruz of Eagan, MN, Martha Miranda Alicea and husband Robert of Farmington, MN, and Elva Miranda Smith and husband Scott of Hastings, MN; son, Jesus Miranda Jr. and wife Maria of Fort Mill, SC; brother, Roberto Miranda of Lyons, KS;  twelve grandchildren, Enrique Benson, Marisela Miranda, Derik Miranda, Scott Smith, Marina Smith, Abelina Miranda, Joaquin Miranda, Savanna Smith, Santana Smith, Magdalena Miranda, Salina Alicea, and Jasmine; and ten great-grandchildren. Jesus was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Lupe Miranda; brother; three sisters; and one great-grandson, Jaxson. Funeral service will be at 5:00 P.M., Thursday, August 27, 2020 at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons with Pastor Kenton Abbott officiating. Memorials may be given to Rice County Council on Aging in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
