Jeffrey “Jeff” Wayne Koblitz, 61, of Arlington, Kansas, passed away January 22, 2021 at his daughter’s home. He was born December 14, 1959 in Sterling, Kansas, the son of Howard A. and Juanita L. Koblitz. Jeff graduated from Sterling High School. He went on to continue his education at Vocational School in Beloit, Kansas. He has resided in Arlington for the past eighteen years, formerly of Abbyville, Kansas. Jeff was a jack of all trades, master of none(his words). Jeff has a natural gift with animals. He had a long career training animals both exotic and domestic. His work throughout his life included; welding, farming, dairyman, rodeo clown and trick roping. He was a member of the Sterling American Legion Post #128, and the Sterling Bowling Club. Jeff enjoyed golfing, fishing, boating, and going to auctions. He could always find a treasure no matter where he went. He is survived by his dog, Strike; four daughters, Dominique Payne and husband Austin of Abbyville, Jessica Schmidt and husband Chadd of Arlington, Nicki Hiatt and husband Carrson of Ames, OK, and Stormie Hutchinson and husband Corey of Abbyville; brother, Craig Koblitz and wife Denise of Paola, KS; and thirteen grandchildren, MaKinzie, Gatlin, Diesel, Pistol, Kreek, Piper, Baron, Rowelyn, Holdyn, Paceyn, Casper, Skye, and Scarlett. Jeffrey is preceded in death by his parents, and two dogs, Bailey Rose and Teddy. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be given to Hospice and HomeCare of Reno County in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling.
