Jay Hrabik Obituary

Testimony of a Good Man When it came to this man you didn’t have to talk about acts of kindness – he was kindness. Jay was a man who treated others with respect and dignity. He loved his wife Jane for 47 years and was proud of and raised his children Shelley (husband Matt and grandchildren Grace and Jace – Overland Park), and Adam and Aaron (Lyons) to be honest and hard working. He was a private man who didn’t share his sorrows but was there to support others through theirs. He didn’t need the approval of others. He had the approval of his family and his God. His was a life well lived. This life is over. The next life has begun. Love never ends. Love you Jay/dad – your family. Jay is also survived by two sisters, Linda Hammersmith and Lona Werth (Hays). As well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. There will be no public viewing. A private family burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please give your donation directly to a charity of your choice. To the Sterling Literary Club – still “gotta a little somethin’ here.” Funeral arrangements are being handled by Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
