James Moore “Jim” Allmon, 77, of Chase, Kansas, passed away March 31, 2021 at Hospital District #1 of Rice County, Lyons. He was born December 12, 1943, in Independence, Kansas, the son of Kenneth P. and Martha Ellen Friesner Allmon. Jim has resided in Chase since 2020, formerly of Salida, Colorado. He graduated high school in Manitou Springs, Colorado, attended the University of Northern Colorado, in Greeley, and later received his Master’s Degree from Western Colorado University in Gunnison, Colorado. Jim was a 6th grade elementary school teacher, retiring after 35 years. He loved bowling. Jim is survived by his daughter, Lisa Phoenix of Denver, CO; sister, Teresa Sullivan of Bel Buckle, TN; and friend Marilyn Dupont. He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Paul Allmon. Memorials may be given to USD 401 Chase School in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
