James Albert "Bimmy" Butts

James Albert “Bimmy” Butts, 53, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away April 24, 2026, from a pedestrian vs auto accident. He was born June 13, 1972, in Sterling, Kansas, the son of Charles David “Chuck” and Cathy Ann (Loutzenhiser) Butts. James has resided in Wichita since 2003, formerly of Newton, Salina, Lyons, and Sterling, Kansas. He graduated from Lyons High School, with the class of 1992, and received an associates degree from Kansas Vocational Rehabilitation Center (KVRC). James worked several different jobs, including horticulture. He was a member of the Boy Scouts, Order of the Arrow, and Eagle Scout. James enjoyed fishing, quilting, and hanging with friends and family. He is survived by his sister, LeAnne Butts of Lyons, KS; aunt, Velma Thompson of TN; and numerous cousins. James is preceded in death by his father, Chuck Butts on December 3, 2011; and mother, Cathy Butts on November 1, 2025. Memorials may be given to a local food bank, homeless shelter, or charity of your choice. Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons, is in charge of arrangements.
