Jack O. TenBrook, 99, of Rolla, Kansas, passed away October 17, 2020 at his daughters’ home in Sterling, Kansas. He was born January 12, 1921 in Gentry, Arkansas, the son of George Earl and Alta Vivian (West) TenBrook. Jack has resided in Sterling since April of 2018, formerly of Rolla, Kansas. He graduated from Gentry High School, Gentry, Arkansas with the class of 1939. Jack worked for the IGA Co-Op Grocery Store in Rolla for 36 years, and was a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of the Rolla Baptist Church. Jack served in the United States Army from October 8, 1940 to September 28, 1945, attaining the rank of Sergeant. Jack was united in marriage with Lee Ella Moore in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1945. She preceded him in death on March 31, 1985. He is also preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Marvin and Johnny TenBrook; and two sisters, Annie Brandom and Ruth Audean Beck. Jack is survived by his son, James R. TenBrook and wife Kathy of Denton, Texas; daughter Vivian M. Galyon and husband Jim of Sterling, Kansas; brother, Dallas TenBrook and wife Maxine of Wichita, Kansas; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Graveside funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Rolla Cemetery, Rolla, Kansas with military honors by VFW Point Rock Post #3162. Memorials may be made to the Rolla Cemetery Fund in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling.
